Hoi An is a beautiful little city that is frozen in time. It was one of the most important town of the ancient Silk Road. The city lost is importance due to silting up of the river mouth. Shipwreck discoveries have shown that Vietnamese and Asian ceramics were transported from Hội An to as far as Sinai, Egypt.
Today it is one of the most beautiful tourist town in Vietnam. At night the river is full of little lanterns.
